This guy was from our recent trip to Catalina Island in California. I knew he's a little hard to see in the tree, but I couldn't believe how close we were and he never flew away. We saw 2 bald eagles on a cliffside, though from far away in a boat, this majestic wild bald eagle from about 20 feet away, a captive bald eagle the island conservancy had nursed back to health and some non-raptor beasts like dolphins and a bison. I miss California! I think we may try to do the hawk walk again this summer upstate, though. They may have some new and different birds and I'd love to see that eagle owl again!
